It’s been a very good week fishing again! Use your favorite kingfish stinger rigs and get to the reefs with frozen cigar minnows (unless you can find the bunker on the beach.) Hook the minnows or bunker through the nostrils. Slow troll at less than 2 knots. You can also try dropping some of the bait to the bottom for plenty of red snapper action. Use knocker rigs –they are easy to use and they work just fine.
Keep an eye out for cobia, too. We are seeing a lot of them pop up lately. You will want to have a spinning rod handy with a buck-tail tipped with squid or your favorite squirmy grub tail. Grouper fishing slowed down a little bit due to the ripping current. But, at least the seas are calm and that’s definitely helping matters. Enjoy the week!
