snook season closed

Snook season is now officially closed for the summer.

The bite during the last week of snook season was pretty good at the inlet, but mostly in the afternoon/evening. Live greenies and Mojarra were good baits and croakers worked well, also. Along with snook, the redfish action was pretty good, too. Live pigfish and croakers were the best baits. We got into some tarpon on the beach, but the bait pods are still absent. We found some small schools migrating along the beaches looking for a meal.

Meanwhile, the river still has some nice seatrout, snook and redfish along the shorelines and spoil islands. Live pilchards and mullet have been the most productive baits. We’re still eagerly looking forward to consistent summer weather patterns and the bait to get consistent off the beach and in the lagoon for more action.
