Big Macs on the Beach!

Big Macs on the Beach!

Early week we were able to fish the beach with a lot of action from big Jack Crevalle as well as big Spanish macs and Sharks. There were also some tarpon in the mix, but not a lot. The beach fishing seems to be a little behind this year — like most everything else. There is a lack of bait and not as much action as there should be to start the summer.

The inshore bite has been pretty good fishing mangrove shorelines and docks. Better get out super early and beat the crowds because everyone is using this time to enjoy the outdoors and get away from the crowds.

Offshore fishing has been tough with the rough seas and high winds but we are on the cusp of our summer patterns which should bring light winds and calm seas. Snook season closes this week so this is your last full week to get out and get a slot snook. Anglers don’t need to hit the inlet to get a fish in the slot, there’s plenty of fish on the flats and around the spoil islands and live bait is best but topwater baits work early and soft plastic as the sun comes up!
