Sebastian Inlet Snook

Beach fishing is really good. Plenty of Spanish Mackerel, Kingfish, sharks and snapper as well as a lot of Jack Crevalle and Bonito. We’ve even been able to get several Yellowtail Snapper while fishing the inshore reefs. Live baits work best but we’ve been getting a lot of fish on Rapala Twitchin Mullet and Storm 360GT Coastal Baits as well.

Tarpon are moving north and the bulk of the fish I have found are north at Cape Canaveral, but we are finding schools south to Vero Beach as well.

Snook and Redfish are in Sebastian Inlet and along the beaches but please remember that they are spawning and to handle them with care. We also have the problem of the Jewfish trying to eat every fish you try to land. Make sure you fish them with heavy enough tackle to get the fish away from the Jewfish before they are eaten. And be careful while reviving your fish as I had a huge Snook ripped out of my hand during a release last week. If it’s Snook you are targeting, your best bet is to fish the trough along the beaches and you won’t have to worry about predators eating the fish you are catching or trying to release.
