redfish

It seems as though summer has set in here in Central Florida. We are starting to get our afternoon thunderstorms and strong afternoon winds. This time of year is a great time to catch several different species from snook, redfish, trout, black drum and tarpon. The bite has been good throughout Mosquito Lagoon and north through the North Indian River.

Look for snook and tarpon in the backwaters holding near structure with moving water. The trout and redfish can be found mixed in with the large pods of bait in the Lagoon. Early in the morning has been producing well with plugs then moving over to soft plastics or live bait. It looks like we may have some weather coming in later in the week making for a good bite prior to the arrival of the weather.
