black drum bite

It’s been another fantastic week of fishing for us at Fineline Fishing Charters. The black drum bite has been on fire. Everyday this week our customers have caught their personal best fish. Most of these drum are running 25 to 40 pounds, but we have had fish that scale to 50 pounds as well. Sight casting to schools of drum numbering into the hundreds on the flats of the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon is one of the most exciting ways we know to fish. This activity doesn’t usually last long and the drum will most likely return to their normal routine of hanging around structures in the deeper portions of these lagoons. Along the beaches we also have encountered good numbers of tripletail around weeds and other floating debris. Some of these fish are hitting the double digit mark. Live shrimp have been the best bait to use for both the drum and tripletail this week.

We have a couple of openings in our charter schedule so if you want to get out there and enjoy some of this incredible weather and fishing give captain Justin or myself a call at 321-505-8217 or book one of us directly at finefishingcharters.com.

Let’s go catch your next memory!
