tarpon

Windy weather is upon the Space Coast; not to mention a very unstable pattern for October. Regardless, there is still places to hide from the wind and fish to be caught! So far this week the best bet has been hiding from the wind in residential canals and spoil islands. The unusually warm October temperature has actually been producing some really nice tarpon. Mike and Weston kulisky spent their day casting artificial baits to rolling tarpon and had some great success!

The key to catching these tarpon is to really down size your lure. Small paddle tails such as D.O.A. Cal and Terroreyez seem to always work well. I personally prefer natural colors such as black and silver, silver, and even dark green. Matching the hatch has always produced better for me than crazy flashy colors.

Hopefully we will see a cooler weather pattern soon and the tarpon bite will slowly start to diminish, but for now it definitely seems to be consistent!
