AJs remained in big numbers despite the poor bottom fishing conditions.

This week was alright, but definitely not as good as last. A cold water thermocline moved in and pretty much shut down some of the great bottom fishing we had going. There were not as many grouper this week, but way more AJs, and for some reason, fewer sharks…

Kings were few and far between on the reefs, and honestly, I can’t tell you how good the bite was on them because we had mostly locals — and all locals know you can’t eat a kingfish… Still, chicken rigging, regardless of the water temperatures, maintained pretty decent results for us, producing a pile of large porgies and triggers.

Unfortunately, high winds are expected to most likely screw the week we have coming up for us. But, you never know — good luck out there!
