redfish

Since the Coronavirus is here I really have nothing to do other than fish, so I’ve been out for a few hours almost every day this week. The canals around Satellite are not producing like they were last week. The water is very low because of the lack of rain, which has made some of the usual spots too low to fish. We ventured out into the river and, on the upside, the water in the Indian River looks AMAZING! The flats have some small schools of nice redfish and very big trout cruising around, but it turns out that clear water site fishing means they can see us just as well as we can see them. They are very spooky and hard to get to even look at your bait especially in shallow water. Attached is a photo of a nice 30” redfish that I had to battle out of the mangroves.
