snook redfish

This week has been some fantastic fishing, with warmer temperatures the snook have definitely been making more of an appearance throughout the area. The main focus has been deeper mangrove shorelines. Find the deeper banks with lots of cover for these fish to hide from dolphins, humans, and other predators has definitely been the key! With it being warmer an earlier start is also a good bet.

Most fish are still stuck on small baits, 3 inch gulp shrimp, and d.o.a paddle tails in pearl or silver mullet have been producing quite well. If the bite seems slow, but it appears fish are present, try switching to a live handpick shrimp. This is always a great “go to” for finicky fish and this week has been no exception. The redfish, trout, and snook have all been on the same pattern and this will probably prevail for the next few weeks to come.
