black drum bite remains strong

The drum bite on the Indian River lagoon is still going strong despite water temperatures touching the 88 degrees mark this week. Captain Justin Ross and myself are using live or cut shrimp or crab for these fish. Rig these baits on a ¼ ounce jig head. This seems to be one of the most effective ways to get these fish to bite. Silver trout speckled trout and mangrove snapper are possible catches while targeting the drum near bridges and rocky areas. Our best catches seems to be happening in the Melbourne through Titusville portion of the river.
