big snapper

Bill with a nice Snapper we caught off the beach.

The weather is better and we are finally starting to get into our summer patterns. Nearshore fishing is pretty good with snapper, sharks and mackerel the inshore reefs south of the inlet. Theres a little bait, but there’s plenty of schools of big jacks roaming the beaches and a few tarpon scattered and migrating north. The bulk of the fish are north off the tip of Cape Canaveral, but there are a few schools migrating through Sebastian and Satellite beach, as well.

The inlet bite was good after the last rainfall, but we need more rain to push the bait out of the creeks and into the lagoon. Looking forward to the afternoon thunderstorms to keep pushing bait out and helping get the fish moving in and out of the inlet.
