shark fishing

Shark fishing remains productive in the surf!

All the storms have passed finally and the surf has layed down some. The water is still a bit off colored inside the first bar with some weeds in the mix, but the conditions are fishable.

Mullet pods are thick all along the coast, and with the pods are the usual predators. That includes nice-sized bluefish, jacks, tarpon, redfish and of course the sharks.

For those looking to fill the freezer this week, the sandfleas have also been thick on the beach, and as the water temp starts to fall to the lower 80’s the pompano have begun to show up in great numbers. You might have to move around to find the keepers and get away from the catfish, but it is well worth the effort!
