SOLUNAR FORECAST

Full Moon, High Winds… Can’t Fish?

Well, this is embarrassing… Late, last Monday night, in a frantic effort to finish the weekly fishing forecast, I misread the Solunar calendar and enthusiastically spread word to the world that the month’s peak periods of fish activity were slated for LAST week. They are actually in fact, THIS week. Thankfully, I was able to delete my post before being publicly skewered for it, or worse yet, pelted with lead by the Sebastian Inlet Jetty firing squad.

If I were correct last week, the peak periods would have aligned conveniently on the days with the lowest wind. This week, as it happens, the peak periods are set to occur over the days when winds are at their highest. Dang. But hey, don’t let that stop you from capitalizing on some moon voodoo. After all, ANY GIVEN FRIDAY, you might just catch yourself that trophy fish, and this week you will at least have great lighting from the full moon to make it happen.

As forecasted by solunar theory, the major and minor periods of peak fish activity gravitate on the days closest to the full moon. The times are as follows:

THURSDAY MINOR:
6:34AM – 7:34AM
7:12PM – 8:12PM
THURSDAY MAJOR:
12:25AM – 2:25AM
12:51PM – 2:51PM

FRIDAY MINOR:
7:14AM – 8:14AM
8:16PM – 9:16PM
FRIDAY MAJOR:
1:17AM – 3:17AM
1:43PM – 3:43PM

SATURDAY MINOR:
7:54AM – 8:54AM
9:19PM – 10:19PM
SATURDAY MAJOR:
2:09AM – 4:09AM
2:35PM – 4:35PM
