Chris Pashos of the FSFA lands a massive bull!

Forget about March — for the Florida Sport Fishing Association, the year’s MADNESS is just getting started!

We’re giving away free Offshore Slam tournament entries ($175/each) next week to two lucky Spacefish readers, so stay tuned on how to win. Additionally, the club has a great lineup for both the upcoming North and South Chapter meetings. Get all the details below!

This one is for FSFA members only, but joining the club is EASY and costs only $50 for an annual membership for the entire family. You can sign up online here. The three largest fish caught and entered will win gift certificates in the amounts of $300 for first, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Greg was visiting from NH and was stoked to pull this bull in yesterday aboard Chris Passo’s new boat, the Seaduction.

CLUB MEETINGS & SEMINARS

The club holds two meetings every month, one in Melbourne and the other in Merritt Island, which are both open to the public. Each event includes a presentation from a featured speaker, who covers a specific topic of fishing expertise. Starting at 6:30pm, the meetings are always a good place to socialize with other anglers, learn something new, and enjoy some food and beverages (which are available for a donation). This month’s meetings include:

  • May 14 @ Front Street Civic Center
The South Chapter meeting will include a rigging seminar, featuring an assortment of local experts, covering topics for inshore and offshore, rod and reel maintenance, knots, and more!
  • May 28 @ Brevard Veterans Center
The North Chapter meeting will feature Charlie Levine, who will be speaking on how to read sea surface temperature and chloorophyll charts. Charlie is a lifelong angler and is currently the editor and publisher of Fishtrack.com and buoyweather.com, as well as a contributing writer to several publications.

It’s a great time to get involved with the club, so we hope to see you there!
