The Triple Sea tearing it up fishing the Otherside

This past week provided some great opportunities to run offshore. And there were multiple anglers that decided to take advantage of these weather windows to GO DEEP! (Sorry, still hung up on the playoff games).

This time of year can be absolutely money for targeting yellowfin tuna on the “Otherside” of the Gulf Stream. The primary reason you don’t see as many reports is simply because of the weather. With the consistent cold fronts descending on us from the north, it’s challenging to find good weather to make the trip. That is, unless you are in a 62’ Spencer Yacht outfitted with all custom rods from Handler Fishing Supply in Merritt Island. Capt. Jimmy Werling running the Triple Sea with owners Carl, Stephanie and crew, flat out put a whooping on some yellowfin tuna and dolphin on their recent trip to the Otherside. Looking like the coaching staff for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in full head gear they really had their game plan installed for the big win!

Plenty of tuna to go around for the crew of the Triple Sea

Also “Going Deep,” like Tom Brady with time expiring at the half for a 39 year touchdown pass, was Josh and his crew consisting of Billy, Darren, Tyler & Paul on the Flippin Tail with a full pull of deep drop critters. Yellow edge grouper filled the cooler along with some tasty tilefish. These guys were dialed in and came home with some groceries!
