cobias

It’s been a pretty good week for us here at Fineline Fishing Charters. Cobia are still coming over the gunnels on our offshore trips. Live Bates on a sliding sinker or knocker rig have been working best for us when fishing over structures like reefs and wrecks. King mackerel and Vinito are also striking these beats on most days.

In the lagoons, redfish, black drum and speckled trout are the top three species we’ve been catching. All three are hitting live shrimp or you can also catch the Reds and speckle trout on Saltwater Assassin 3-inch sea shad tails rigged on a weighted offset worm hook or 1/8 ounce Assassin spring lock jig head.

At the inlet bull reds and snook are still coming in spurts. Some days they’re biting very well and on other days they’ll hardly bite at all for us. On the good days it can turn into an absolute fire fight and we’ve had quite a few days we physically run out of bait we’ve had so many hook ups.
