A juvenile tiger shark made an appearance on Monday’s beach trip on the Seas Fire.
To start off positive, fishing has been good offshore. Very good. Kings, sails, mahi and some random blackfins have all been in the mix. All the typical areas and reefs, no surprises. Bait has been difficult to find though, so be prepared with your frozen minnows. They work just fine.
Nearshore has been a hit and miss, but definitely more of a hit. The time of day hasn’t mattered much, especially if you’re Captain Joe on the FireFight boat — it’s always a good day when you’re Joe! Just get out there and try it.
Now for the negative… WINDS, I know you are not surprised to hear me say that. It’s been bad. The only good thing last few days is that its a west wind and we can nearshore fish. So get out there and enjoy.
