redfish mosquito lagoon

This past week has been another good week of fishing here in the Mosquito and Northern Indian River Lagoons. We have been targeting several species like tarpon, redfish, snook and jacks — just to mention a few. The weather held steady until the latter part of the week bringing in a cold front making the fishing conditions less then enjoyable. The front brought rain, cool air temps and high winds. The wind will be hanging around for a few days then calming down to make for some great fishing weather.

The fish will start to prepare for there winter patterns as the water will start to cool this month depending on more fronts. Look for the schools of bait on the shallow flats and back bays of Mosquito Lagoon and the fish will be with them. As the water temps continue to cool the redfish and trout will both be found shallow making for some good sight fishing.
