Tarpon fishing!

With the winds we were stuck inshore this week and had a tough bite. The water is crystal clear in most places that aren’t stirred up from the wind, so sight fishing is a great option for many, especially the fly guys. We spent most of our week fishing the spoil islands and east shorelines along the mangroves and docks of the lagoon from Grant to Wabasso. The trout and pompano are around in good numbers as are the snook and redfish. We have seen a lot of sheepshead around the docks. With the clear water, the fish are spooky but we had best luck getting them to eat around the deeper docks and drop offs around the islands. There have been some jacks and some big mackerel in Sebastian Inlet along with a few pompano and bluefish. Jacks, tarpon and bull sharks in the Sebastian River this week. Live mullet is the best baits for the sharks and tarpon.
