pompano surf fishing

We hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Those who ventured out on the water and went fishing over the holiday weekend did well across the Space Coast.

In the canals and around the Pineda and Eau Gallie Causeways, anglers were catching a variety of species. Sheepshead, trout, mangrove snapper and black drum have all been abundant. Fish the surf, many anglers were able to get into the migratory pompano that are now running strong. Clams, sand fleas, and frozen shrimp have all been working solid, and in Melbourne Beach, we are seeing anglers get their limits. Also on the beach, people were catching whiting, bluefish, and sheepshead in decent numbers.

The offshore bite has been good for the bottom fishermen, mangroves and mutton snapper were chewing in the 90-foot range north of Sebastian. Out of the port the triple tail bite is pretty good.

Congratulations to all the Anglers that have made it out this week and brought home the bacon. Have a great week from all of us and Man Overboard!
