Fishing on the Harris Chain of Lakes continues to be really good. I’ve been having success fishing with hard and soft plastic jerk baits in a sexy shad or translucent baitfish color. This has produced good numbers of bass with some larger ones mixed in, too. A soft plastic swim bait on the back of a bladed jig has also done well.

If you’re having trouble finding the bite, try casting lipless crank baits. It’s a great search bait for finding actively feeding fish. I personally use a 1/2 oz red eye shad or rat l trap. Golden shiner or sexy shad is a staple around here.

With the warming trend we’re experiencing, the frog bite is heating up and will continue to get better and better! Long casts with braided line 40 lb and up are needed to land the big ones. Braided line in higher pound tests can help slice through the lily pads if you are fishing around them.
