This week we had some slightly higher surf and dirty water. The surf layed down and the water started to clear up near the end of the week. With the dirty water brought in the catfish, but if you were able to find clear water, the pompano and whiting are waiting. The standard pompano rig with either shrimp or sandfleas has been the way to go.
The mullet pods have been a bit further past the first sandbar, but the predator fish are around. Nice schools of jacks and bluefish are chasing. For these fish, you want to set up with either heavy mono or short piece of light wire with dead or live mullet or strip of cutbait near the pods.
