Fishing was hit or miss this week. The nearshore bite was great when we are able to get out, with plenty of King Mackerel, Bonito and Jacks, but when the the winds were up, we were stuck inside with a slow bite. The inlet bite was decent earlier in the week but got tough as the week progressed. Meanwhile, inshore fishing was alright with jacks, trout and some tripletail all biting on artificial baits.

The upcoming week looks like we have a great weather window. Light winds and calm seas will let us get nearshore and offshore. Look for tarpon and jacks, kingfish as well as some Cobia along the beaches. The Mutton Snapper and big Spanish Mackerel should be moving in along the reefs as long as the bait moves in. Live bait is going to be the key as the warmer weather and calm seas will make it hard to get bit on artificial.
