In the lagoon, the fishing has been great around the Pineda Causeway. Anglers are catching black drum, redfish, mangrove snapper and sheepshead. These same fish are also being caught a little further south at Mathers Bridge where people are hooking into a lot of big, bruiser reds and plenty of keeper mangroves. Meanwhile, the area’s canals are holding good numbers of small tarpon, snook, and trout. Over on the beach, surf anglers are pulling in margates and drum, and even a few pompano have been showing up. Heading offshore, we’re hearing that there’s been a lot of small dolphin out at 250 feet — at least, during the times when it’s been fish-able.

Awesome catch. I would love to try fishing by Pineda causeway, not sure where the fishing spots there. I also read anglers catching pomps on jigs. Any guidance?
