Beautiful Wednesday morning on the Indian River. Launched at Pineda kind of late. Some seniors told me “too bad, the bite stopped a 1/2 hour ago.” Scooted across the the east shore and started with some of my favorite docks. North of the Pineda causeway. No takers on top water, but got some hits on a paddle tail. Switched to a suspending jerk bait and hit a half dozen nice trout at a couple of docks and some nearby mangrove shoreline. Worked my way south and picked up more on both a red/white and a gold/clear. Caught the best fish of the day around noontime – a nice 21″. Lost a few but wound up with a dozen, all catch and release on barbless hooks. All in all, a good morning for me.
