Our fishing continues to be great inshore as the bite has picked up tremendously. Big speckled trout have moved into our rivers stacked up against docks and pilings. We will continue to see these fish move into our rivers during the colder months. Also, sheepshead have moved into our rivers as well. As the temperature drops, the bite will continue to get better for them. For sheepshead, using jigs with fiddler crabs have been the best go to bait. The trout have been hitting topwater lures and live finger mullet.

As our temperatures drop, our beach bite will continue to pick up bringing pompano, whiting, drum species (blacks and reds), permit, croakers and spots will continue to show up. Pompano rigs with Fish Gum, fresh dead shrimp or clams will get the job done. Pompano Rich’s ???? pompano rigs have been deadly, as well as Frisky Fins (rattle rigs) and Salty pompano rigs. These are my 3 go to set ups for beach fishing.

The snook and red drum have moved south into our river systems. We are catching both on live bait pitching docks or mangrove shorelines. This should remain pretty consistent throughout the winter months.

riggs outpost Momma b Beach Charters have been absolutely destroying the fish on charters! We have been rig fishing for pompano, whiting and drum while throwing metal spoons and plugs for Spanish mackerel, bluefish and jacks. All tackle and bait can be picked up at Riggs Outpost in downtown Melbourne.

????This week is thanksgiving, as we all give thanks and spend time with our families and loved ones always remember, the fish want to eat on thanksgiving day too lol. They will be waiting for you after you’re done eating!
