pompano on the beach

Targeting the canals using live shrimp, anglers are catching some small tarpon, lots of trout, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, red drum, black drum and quite a few undersized snook. For the Indian River, around the bridges they are catching lots of pompano and mackerel.

For the beach, if the wind conditions are good, anglers are catching pompano, whiting, black drum, margate and sheepshead.

For the offshore bite, it looks like a few dolphin have showed up. A decent number of kingfish are being caught along with a few wahoo on the troll as well. The bottom bite is producing AJ’s on the 90-foot ledge and cobia are being caught with a lot of shorts mixed in. There have been some really nice Mangrove snapper and Lane snapper being caught, as well.
