We welcome back the Pompano season with open arms! Lots of lucky anglers who hit the surf this past week before the front were able to bring home dinner! Live/ blanched fleas paired with Fishbites and 4oz Sputnik on a Couture CO. Pompano rig was a great choice!
I was able to pick off my limit before 8am on Friday morning. I found clean water and a nice outflow. Both key players if you wanna catch numbers on Pompano or possibly your (6) fish limit. A couple of hours before high tide, the bite was on fire then it shut down till around 5pm and then went off again till dark! The water temp on beach is still around 78*. It hasn’t really dropped in temperature yet as we’re still waiting on our first real cold front. As soon as it does, our residential Pompano in our river and lagoons will make their way out to the beach and will meet with other migratory fish coming down from the Carolina’s.
