This week was superb if you like giant bass and big numbers. I fished on Kenansville and Headwaters this week. We caught several fish in the 7-9 pound class on topwater bait with the Chugbug and a 7″ Texas rigged Shad Assassin in the gold pepper shiner color.
This week should be a topwater bonanza. I will be throwing a Scum Frog and Chug bug around scattered hydrilla and Lilly pads. When I’m close to a patch of hyacinth I will throw a 7″ Shad Assassin and just let it fall right beside the hyacinth. Look for the floating islands that have deep water underneath them.
