I went to Melbourne Beach for some surf fishing today, and I was the only one there. It didn’t take long to figure out why. It was way too rough. I couldn’t keep a tight line and ended up leaving after just four or five casts. Looking forward to the next time out!

If the conditions are even potentially border-line too rough I won’t even bother if I can help it. I usually just look at the wind speed and will check out one of the surf cams on the beach. Sometimes it’s nice just checking out the beach, but just be sure to check it out before unloading all your gear lol.
