Went to Melbourne Beach Friday morning. Wasn’t expecting to much but I was pleasantly surprised. The tide was going out with little wind, the surf was pretty calm with no weeds except for the ones on the beach from the high tide. I set up with live fleas and immediately got some hits but couldn’t connect on the light hits. A little more patience and one Croaker. I am thinking this is bait but I didn’t have the right set up. Got a couple small whiting one good size one and a huge one! Plus a 12” Pompano in the mix. Saw what I think was a large Tarpon cruising the surf after the bait fish too. Looking forward to learn more about targeting the bigger fish out there in the surf.
