Tarpon, snook, trout, redish, sailcats, ladyfish, mangrove snapper… Heck, it’s a great week to catch all of these species! The “mixed bag” fishing action we’ve been having this week has been a lot of fun for our charter clients. You just never know what is going to jump on your live bait or lure next.
Most of our fishing has been on the Banana River Lagoon where the water is still looking pretty good for this late in the summertime. Saltwater Assassin Turbo Sea Shad or the Northern Minnow, Mama’s 14k, Houdini, and Silver Mullet color patterns are the best soft plastics to use. Rapala Skitterwalk plugs in the mullet and bluegill patterns are great early morning producers. Fingerling mullet or shrimp are your best live baits right now. Get on the water early and beat the heat for some great summertime fishing with us!
