Conditions like heavy rain and wind have made the lagoon and the beach really dirt. Lagoon fishing has been slow recently due to the algae bloom but baits like shrimp and cut bait have been pretty good. A mass migration of Mullet from the Carolinas to the Keys have made sunny days at the beach amazing for live bait. During sunny days at the beach, be prepared to catch Snook, Tarpon, and Jack Crevalle. The Sebastian Inlet and the Cape Canaveral Jetty have been producing pretty good for Flounder and Sheephead. You can catch these fish on baits such as Gulp and Fishbites. The Inlet has also been good for Spanish Mackerel as well.

Great report Josh, thank you!
Does anyone know if the algae bloom has make it to the Sebastian area in the IRL?
Hey man so the algae bloom wont really affect the lagoon near the sebastian inlet or jetty park since the incoming ocean water will mix with the lagoon water but if you go a bit deeper in the river near mainland you will find heavy spots of algae. Recently I’ve been fishing jetty park and the inlet to escape the heavy algae blooms. Hope this helps and tight lines.
So is it as far south as the Sebastian River bridge? Im trying to plan a trip in the next week or so and am not sure if there is enough clean water to stay a couple of days. Thanks
Hey man so sebastian river bridge shouldnt have lots of algae since the inlet is close and the ocean water will kinda filter most of it out but i would check with fwc or someone who lives there to confirm. Tight lines!
