The mullet run is in full effect up and down Florida’s East Coast. Snook, redfish and tarpon are readily eating finger mullet on a 3/0 or 4/0 circle hook. Black drum and mangrove snapper have been chewing on live shrimp on small circle hooks with a split shot or a shrimp tipped jig head. Over the next week or two, the mullet run should intensify so keep an eye out for mullet being crashed by redfish, trout snook and tarpon.
