snook

Snook fishing has been off the chain the past few weeks. I have been getting some of the biggest snook of the year using live baits around the jetties and along the near-coastal waters on my recent charters. My anglers have also been jumping good numbers of tarpon between 50 and 100-pounds. These fish are striking the same baits that we’re using for the snook.

Blacktip and spinner sharks are two other large game fish that my clients have been hooking while on these near-coastal fishing excursions. For the sharks, I have been adding a wire bite trace so that they don’t cut through our heavy fluorocarbon leaders. With the mullet run going strong along the coast, I expect this action to continue for another 3 to 4 weeks.

If you’re interested in booking a fishing charter trip with me I only have one morning slot available this month on the 25th. I do have a few afternoon slots available though so let’s get out there and catch your next memory!
