Around Pineda Causeway we are catching some really nice mangrove snapper up to 16″ along with some decent-sized black drum. In and around the Grand Canal in Satellite Beach there are still decent numbers of gator trout being caught along with some juvenile tarpon in the mix. If you’re looking for snook, these fish have been holding around docks in good numbers and are reportedly eager to chew. In the surf, whiting and margate have been the primary catches, but you better scope out the beach before unpacking the surf cart. There’s been lots of scattered weeds offshore, and with east winds projected throughout the week, we’re likely due to see a lot of that mess churned up in the surf.
