Overall, the beaches have been producing solid numbers of pompano from Playalinda Beach all the way south to Sebastian Inlet. At the moment, the surf fishing production is consistent all along Brevard’s coast. Sand fleas are the bait of choice fished on a pompano rig, but if the waves are light, they are being caught on jigs as well. Doc’s Goofy Jigs tipped with a piece of dead shrimp work very well. Clams and shrimp will also do the trick. There have also been some really nice black drum and whiting in the mix, so make time to hit the beach and see if you can catch dinner!
