OCTOBER RECAP

Put the banner up for October. As good as I have ever seen it nearshore with sharks, red drum, tarpon, goliath grouper, jack crevalle, snook, triple tail and more. Offshore was unreal with cobia, kings, mahi, and stringer fish off the bottom plus a few sailfish and blackfin tuna in the mix.

Port Canaveral monthly fishing forecast

Neashore Fishing Forecast

Stay close and win EVERY time. Keep fishing fun and stay in the calm water to battle red drum or fight with several different variety’s of sharks. Finger mullet & greenies will still be abundant so enjoy some light tackle action from snook, triple tail, pompano, flounder, jack crevalle, sheepshead plus a lot of other species. Do everything because it will all be fire and you can do everything in just a few hours. This is the perfect time of year and fishing to get your family and guest out fishing.

Offshore Fishing Forecast

Cold fronts that bring rough seas will dictate what to fish for. A good portion of this month the seas will not allow for offshore fishing but calm days immediately following rough seas can make for really good trolling. Defined edges where the water goes from mud to blue will be easy to find. Just head East until it changes. You can expect good numbers of mahi with the occasional sailfish, black fin tuna and wahoo in the mix. The bottom fishing in 160 ft or better will be really good for vermillion snapper, porgys, trigger fish and occasionally you might score a grey or scamp grouper. No reason at all to force trips offshore this month. The fishing nearshore is phenomenal. Yes by going offshore you are able to target more species for the dinner table but your priority should be about having fun and enjoying the outdoors. If your hungry go to the grocery store. If your looking to have fun then go fishing.
