red snapper - port canaveral offshore report

This week was a typical re-run of last week. Winds and muddy lake looking water, but who knows, maybe it’s just me? We did manage some peanut mahi that were just hanging around a coconut tree and they were babies. I’m sure that will spark some of y’all to go pull ballyhoo all day. Lol, just kidding. Water was still too cold for the kings, but the water is definitely warming up. It won’t be too long until we finally see the kings again, God willing. I’m guessing roughly two weeks, tops. We are seeing significant changes daily. So that’s a good thing, anyway.

Bottom chicken rigging is doing well. There is a lot of sea bass, triggers and lanes to be had. Red snapper are all over to be released. Fun for the fight, anyways. AJs are definitely around but good luck getting them through the pesky sandbar sharks! Sharks are bountiful, that’s for sure. It’s been the most consistent bite and catch we’ve had lately, from AM through PM in about 15-20 foot depths along the beach.

Rays have been spotted from Patrick and out to the #2 bouy. Cobia are here and there on them. Take your time and you may get lucky and catch a few. Good luck and stay safe.
