This week was great for the bottom fishing chicken rigging once again. Porgies, triggers, lanes and bealiners are making for a lot of fun and great eating. Kings were slow, but they are starting to get active once again. It’s the same old song and dance: live bait to the reefs while chicken rigging, and always keeping an eye out for cobia swimming to the boat and the lurking maui. The beach is covered with live bait right now; loads of mullet and bunker. There’s predators all over it, too, including sharks, reds, jacks, blues, and some snookers in the mix, as well.
