canal seatrout

The canals around Satellite Beach are holding solid numbers of spotted seatrout. Among them are some real trophies. If you’re lucky enough to catch one, remember to handle it with the utmost care. We want these fish happy, healthy, and in the water so they can keep spawning future generations. We’re also seeing redfish and mangrove snapper caught in good numbers in and around the canals, too.

Meanwhile, along the beach, pompano have been hit or miss but there have been some nice whiting and sheepshead caught in the Satellite Beach surf. Not too far off the beach, the cobia bite remained strong through the weekend, and should continue to be pretty good this week.
