pompano inshore

Nick with a nice pompano caught near Sebastian Inlet.

Holidays were good and we got out quite a bit. The winds were heavy, but the fish were cooperative most days. We’ve been catching plenty of redfish and a few snook in the inlet on live bait when the water was clean from north winds. South winds brought in dirty water from the beach renourishment programs and the fishing got tough. However, we were able to move south to find cleaner water in the lagoon and get into a good trout bite and found some pompano and juvenile snook along with some jacks and plenty of ladyfish. Jetty anglers had a tough time with the dirty water as well making the fishing tough for everyone.
