mangrove snapper

Brendan from Wisconsin with a nice mangrove snapper.

We definitely had some beautiful weather early and mid week, then the wind blew and seas got rough which made it tough to get off the beaches and fish. We did a few nearshore and offshore trips with the nice weather and got into some good mangrove snapper as well as red snapper and some kingfish. Even found a few tarpon in the mix. Kingfish bite has been pretty good at the inshore reefs and around the bait pods along the beaches around monster hole and spanish house. Inshore bite has been pretty decent. Live mullet, pilchards and greenies have accounted for snook as well as some big trout and slot reds.

Weather looks pretty good this next week. As long as we can find the bait pods, we should be able to get into some good fish and have plenty of action from kingfish, sharks, tarpon and jacks. Offshore look for Snapper and Cobia on the reefs as well as kingfish and the occasional mahi!
