This young man got to have some fun with Bonito, Lane Snapper and Barracuda!
It was a mixed bag this past week with some offshore fishing as well as nearshore and inlet action. There’s been plenty of sharks, Kingfish and Spanish mackerel, jacks and bonito off the beaches. Live bait and artificials have been working for all species. Threadfins, Pilchards and pinfish have been especially effective baits on the beach. Poppers, Dart spins and Storm jerk baits have all been good artificial baits.
We’ve also had some decent redfish in the inlet, and some snook, as well. Here, live pigfish have been best baits.

Offshore, the bite has also been good with some mangrove snapper, triggerfish and kingfish in the 60-70’ range. Live pilchards have been working well here, too.
