african pompano

Sarah and her step dad Dave with a nice pair of African Pompano!

We spent most of our time fishing nearshore and offshore this week. The Tripletail bite was pretty good and the nearshore bonito bite was good as well. Snook bite was tough in the mornings but the afternoon bite has been pretty good on live pigfish and grunts. Big jacks, Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel are along the beaches and the tarpon are starting to show up. Find the bait pods and fish live greenies and you will have a good time and bring home some dinner.

Wrecks offshore Sebastian are holding some Bonito, Blackfin Tuna, Jacks and some African Pompano. Live bait works best for all species but they will all hit jigs too. Reefs are holding some good Mangrove snapper and a lot of big blue runners and banded rudder fish.

I’s spend most of my time fishing the beach for the Mackerel, Tarpon and Kingfish. Live greenies are the best baits. If you can find good numbers or Pigfish, grunts or croakers give the inlet a shot for snook and redfish as well.
