bull shark fishing

It seems like Shark Week has come early this year. We’ve been catching excellent numbers of small bull sharks up to about 4 1/2 feet in length in the lagoon system while using cut baits like ladyfish and crevalle Jack over the past few trips. These fish are a fantastic fight on light tackle.

We have also had a pretty good mix bag of speckled trout, small redfish, black drum, and baby tarpon recently. This action should continue for at least another month. This is a great time to get the kids out and have them pull on something that they can really get excited about.

On the few nearshore trips we’ve been able to run, we have had very good success on sharks as well, plus king mackerel, jacks, goliath grouper, and a few small cobia. These have mainly been hitting live pilchards that we’ve either drifted or slow trolled over reefs and wrecks within about 15 miles of shore.

We have very few openings left for the month of May, but if you’re interested we can always try to fit you in so please give us a call at 321-636-3728.
