sestina snook

Brought Amanda and James out for Amanda’s birthday last week and got into some huge Snook!

Ten straight days of +20 mph winds and a mild cold front were brutal, but the fish were still biting pretty well. We just had to work a little harder for them. Plenty of snook, redfish and jacks inshore and in the inlet. Trout were particularly active in the river. Live bait was best but we were able to get into some slot reds and bigger snook on DOA jerk baits along the shorelines.

inshore slam

James got an inshore slam with big snook, a nice-sized trout and a slot Red.

The inlet bite for big reds was okay, but the jacks have been super thick in there and it was hard to get through to the redfish.

Sebastian inlet jack

Amanda managed a few good snook and trout along with a bunch of jacks during some not so great weather.

Looks like the weather and seas should calm down this week and hopefully we can get back in to our summer weather patterns with light winds and afternoon rain storms and the bait will get moving more. More bait will help the action will heat up quite a bit inshore and along the beaches.
