Sebastian Inlet Blacktip shark

The bite in Sebastian Inlet has been a little slow for anglers in boats. The jetty guys are getting decent numbers of snook on shrimp now but it’s hard to get to them from the boats without interfering with the guys on the jetty. Nighttime bite on jigs is also pretty good from the jetty. The Spanish mackerel and bluefish are thick with some pompano mixed in along the beaches and the blacktip shark migration is in full swing. Also mixed in with the mackerel and blues are kingfish. Live baits rigged on light wire with stinger hooks are the best baits to use.

The water in the Indian River Lagoon up north of Grant and Palm Bay is extremely dirty and the bite is WAY off. From Grant to Sebastian Inlet is very clean and the trout, jacks and ladyfish are pretty thick along the deeper shorelines and around the spoil islands. Pompano are spread out through the lagoon close to Sebastian Inlet. More bait is starting to stack up on the flats and the shorelines and the trout snook are mixed in with them. Keep looking for the bait and you will find the fish.
