Hit Christens Landing and worked John’s Fish Camp. The main river bank on the east side at dawn was my best producer. Hit 3 nice 20-24 inch snook on topwater before daylight took over working the mangrove line. Switched to DOA paddle tails in glow in the dark and white (last few I had) and hit three more almost in consecutive casts. After snagging the grove line several times and noticing the small schools of baitfish, I switched over to a MirrOlure twitch bait and started working the holes in the mangrove line. Landed two more and then decided to attempt to catch a few trout. Skunked for an hour and called it a day.
Side message. I left my truck keys on the boat ramp dock today when board the love boat. (Gheenoe) Someone was kind enough to place a note on my windshield and the keys. I cannot thank whoever did it enough, as it almost ruined a good day. Common courtesy and simple manners have become as rare as a record fish.
I meant to say east side of the river. My bad.
Good day and good folks for returning your keys.
Had a similar key experience with nice unknown person in south Volusia. There are still a few honorable folks around.
Sounds like the snook are hungry. Thanks for sharing — it’s always great to hear about good will out there.
